It was more magical than we could have imagined!

       hen you arrive for Santa's Magical Workshop, the excitement has already begun! Some children know they're coming to see Santa in his workshop; others don't. You and Laurie will discuss this ahead of time but regardless, it always makes for some fun conversations. When you enter the studio, Santa is sitting in his workshop behind a curtained-off area fixing toys.  Children can hear him but they can't see him. Are you feeling the excitement yet?

After changing into Christmas pajamas - and the anticipation has reached a squealing pitch, Laurie opens the curtains revealing a very busy Santa who pauses, peeks over his glasses, and invites the child/children into his workshop.

For the next 45 minutes, the children are in a magical wonderland of Christmas nostalgia, presents under the tree, and toys everywhere. They help Santa fix broken toys using magic oil and magic paint. They'll share milk and cookies, check the Nice List, sprinkle magic on the globe making it snow at the North Pole, and so much more.  They might even talk to Bernard, Santa's helpful elf.

As an artist and photographer, it is Laurie's deepest desire that families experience the most wonderful time of the year in the most wonderful of all settings - Santa's Magical Workshop. It is truly the best experience in the world and one that will live through the final keepsake products - and in your heart - forever.

      efore your session even begins, Laurie will coordinate with you to gather information about your child/children.  After all, Santa knows everything! She will also discuss keepsake product offerings. This is an equally important part of the process as it will affect how she captures images during the session.

Upon arriving at the studio, your child/children will change into Christmas pajamas before joining Santa in his workshop. Laurie has a beautiful line of vintage nightgowns for girls, women, and grandmothers. She has an equally abundant selection of pajamas for boys, men, and grandfathers. Each piece of clothing is clean, sanitized, and freshly pressed.

Your child/children will spend approximately 45 minutes with Santa...yes, the REAL Santa!

As parents/grandparents, your job is to sit back and watch the magic unfold.  You may laugh or cry while Laurie and Santa create a truly magical experience and memories to last a lifetime.

Following the session, you and Laurie will coordinate a time to meet for the Proofing Session.  This is where you'll see a selection of carefully selected images from the session, choose your favorites, and place your order.  The Proofing Session is held in person at Laurie’s Bishop, CA studio or on Zoom for long distance clients. Have your shopping list ready!

Laurie will walk you through the wide range of legacy product offerings and help you select the perfect image for each.

Details: The Process

Is there anything more magical than Christmas joy as seen through the eyes of a child?  The anticipation of waiting to meet Santa, the excitement of sharing cookies and milk with him, the pure joy of whispering the Christmas wish - every precious moment is captured in timeless photos for us to enjoy forever. 

My kids were in absolute awe of Santa and his workshop! It was as if we had truly been magically transported to the North Pole!   We are so grateful to have these memories to share for years to come.         ~ J. Lawrence

Thoughtful Notes

Elf School teaches children how to wiggle their ears and laugh Ho Ho Ho!

The session fee is $395 for 2 children.  Each additional child is $95.  This covers the necessary preparation between Laurie and the parents/grandparents (after all, Santa knows everything!), the session with Santa in his workshop, and the follow-up Proofing Session.

Cousin Session:  If two families each schedule their own individual session but want to combine cousins for part of one of the sessions, the normal session fee applies to each individual family.  Laurie will discuss with you the details on how she plans and prepares to group cousins between the two individual sessions. Additional fee required. Families wishing to have cousins grouped together will be scheduled consecutively on the same day.
